Local Outreach
We are excited to have purchased a parcel of property in May 2021 that contains three (3) adjoining addresses (260 E. 2d St; 290 E. 2d St. & 269 S. Gibbs St.) located in the historic downtown district of Pomona, CA. We are currently working with an architect, a design professional, and contractors as we prepare to enter into the construction phase. The plan for 290 E. 2d St. is to operate a food market to help address the food desert issues in Pomona. We plan to partner with local farmers to provide nutritional food and organic fruits and vegetables. Within the market we will operate a gelato, coffee, and sandwich shop. This branch of the ministry will also contain a teaching kitchen to hold classes for the community and to provide catering services. In the 260 E. 2d St. address, LHF will operate the Pomona Learning Loft: Tutoring and Mentoring Center (“PLL”). PLL will provide tutoring and mentoring services to the students who are enrolled in the Pomona Unified School District (PUSD). PLL will also provide training and skills for the high school students. Additionally, PLL plans to build strong community partnerships, and business advisory services to support local minority and women residents to help them launch businesses. The goal is to support and expedite business growth, graduate the entrepreneurs so that they can sustain their businesses on their own and create jobs within the community. Lastly, the 269 S. Gibbs building will be used for counseling services in addition. We will provide more details as the plans progress. We are grateful and thankful to operate out of Pomona in the near future.
Prayer Requests:
For Our Pomona Neighbors - Please join us in lifting up the underserved members of the Pomona community. We pray that they remain safe, protected in body, mind, and spirit, and that they come to know, deeply and truly, that they are valued, worthy, and beloved. May every person feel seen and supported, and may our shared efforts reflect the dignity and compassion that each life deserves.
For Construction Progress – Please join us in prayer that the necessary permits are issued without delay so that our construction can move forward smoothly. We pray for safety, efficiency, and steady progress as our space takes shape.
For Community Partnerships – Pray with us that strong and lasting partnerships will be established with local leaders, organizations, and neighbors. May these relationships be rooted in trust, collaboration, and a shared vision of renewal for Pomona.
For Sustained Support – We ask for continued prayer that the resources, connections, and encouragement needed for this work will be provided. May our efforts bring dignity, hope, and opportunities to all who enter our doors.
